Referral feature on our website 

We are excited to announce a new feature on our website!

Users can now add a domain through a WHOIS search directly to a registrar's shopping basket. 

This enhancement builds on the referral feature available on unikpånettet.dk. If you, as a registrar, have submitted your referral information through the registrar portal for unikpånettet.dk, this data will also be utilized in the WHOIS search results. 

We encourage even more registrars to join our referral program. If you’re interested in receiving leads from unikpånettet.dk and punktum.dk, please sign up via the registrar portal. A guide will be sent out to you next week.

As a heads-up, punktum.dk will be updated to include referral information starting next week.

New DNS anycast provider  

Punktum dk will be adding a new DNS anycast provider for the .dk zone in the coming weeks.  CZ.NIC, the registry for the .cz ccTLD of Czechia, will be added as a third worldwide anycast provider together with CIRA, the Canadian registry (.ca), and the Dutch registry SIDN (.nl), and our national unicast nodes.  We thank PCH for their many years of service. 

The “tjekpånettet.dk” as browser extension 

With 1.3 million tests already done with tjekpånettet.dk, helping users stay safe online. Last month, we introduced a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, and Safari, designed to enhance online safety. Launched with a targeted social media campaign, the extension has already been installed by more than 600 users as of November 26.

Phishing attack 

Unfortunately, we are still under phishing attack against .dk-domain registrants and we see the attackers still use multiple sender email addresses to carry out the attack. 

Our customer support team is currently handling a high volume of calls and cases. We apologize if you’ve noticed longer response times—this is due to the increased demand. Thank you for your patience.

New pricing model and updated terms 

As announced in our October newsletter, on January 1, 2025, we will update our terms and conditions, including a new pricing model for .dk domain name-related fees.  

All registrants have now been notified about the updated terms and the new pricing model. You can read our news article on the subject here. 

Flow 2 expires 

Upon registering a .dk domain name, customers will from January 15, 2025, have to enter into the agreement with Punktum dk for the right to use the domain in the registrar's flow (Flow 1).  

It is important that you as the registrar are ready for this switch as it is required registrants read and accept Punktum dk terms.  

For us to make sure that registrants have read and agreed with the agreement with Punktum dk, we will do random samples to registrars.

Consultation 

Punktum dk/DIFO will hold an oral consultation on the management model for .dk domain names in Copenhagen on the 16th of December.  

The purpose of this consultation is to clarify how the internet community believes .dk domain names should be managed - both currently and in the future.  

Specifically, should the management of .dk domain names be restricted to registrants alone, to registrars alone, or should both options remain available, as they are today? 

The oral consultation will be held in Danish. Following this, a written consultation will be provided in both Danish and English and will be sent to you in January 2025. 

Write to us if you want us to send you the invitation (in Danish) to the oral consultation.

Planned releases will be announced through our operational status as well. 

New features will be announced at least 3 weeks before release, while system changes with no backward compatibility will be announced at least 3 months in advance. 

Bug fix releases and security updates may be deployed on a day-to-day basis, depending on severity. 

We are constantly developing new products and solutions, and your ideas and experiences as a registrar are very invaluable to us.
