We would like to inform you that Punktum dk will inform registrants currently using the VID service.
The purpose of this communication is informational only, and no action is required from you.
The message to registrants will explain that:
The VID service will be discontinued no later than 1 July 2028, and Punktum dk will no longer provide this service.
The discontinuation is driven by the need to offer a newer and more secure solution.
As announced in 2025, Punktum dk is transitioning to a new administration model, where from mid‑2028 all commercial customer relationships will be handled exclusively by registrars.
The VID service is planned to be replaced by Registry Lock, a modern and more secure product that registrars will be able to offer to their registrants in the future. We will provide further details as we approach implementation. Please note that support for Registry Lock will not be mandatory, but an optional service that registrars may choose to offer to registrants.

The email will also clarify to registrants that:
No immediate action is required.
Existing VID services can continue until Registry Lock becomes available.
If a registrant chooses to move to move to registrar management before 1 July 2028, the VID service will be discontinued as part of that transition.
Registrants may terminate the VID service themselves via self‑service, if they wish.
