This document provides a short overview of the requirements resulting from the NIS2 Executive Order. We refer to our previous communication from June 18, 2025.
TheNIS2 Executive Order, which partially implements the requirements of Section 11 of the NIS2 Act (transposing Article 28 of the NIS2 Directive into Danish law), will formally enter into force on January 1, 2026.
However, it is crucial to note that theNIS2 Act itself becomes effective earlier, on July 1, 2025. From this earlier date, the Act will impose a range of requirements on top-level domain name registries and entities providing domain name registration services. According to Section 11 of the NIS2 Act, this e.g. includes the requirement for top-level domain name registries and entities providing domain name registration services to have procedures for handling and publishing domain name registration data.
Important Note:
The NIS2 Act and the Executive Order arenot limited to .dk domain names; they also impose requirements on other domain names.
