Dear Registrar,

We have important updates regarding the new administration model. Please take a moment to review the information below, including details on updated registrant terms you must send to your registrar-managed registrants and changes affecting the incentive agreement.

For registrars participating in our incentive program, the incentive payment for registrar-management will cease effective 1 July, while the DNSSEC incentive remains unchanged.

Updated terms and conditions for a .dk domain name

As a result of Punktum dk's decision to change its administration model and increase its efforts regarding internet security, we have updated our terms and conditions for the right to use a .dk domain name. The update introduces several changes, including those concerning Punktum dk’s move to registrar management and the revised registration period for .dk domain names.

You, as a registrar, are obligated to inform your registrar-managed registrants about the changes beginning 13 April, and you must provide the same information as in the attached e-mails, view it via the links below, that Punktum dk will send to registrant-managed registrants. For registrar-managed domain names, registrants must contact their registrar directly rather than Punktum dk.

Attached is the email Punktum dk intends to send to registrant-managed registrants. It contains the required information, including the option to terminate the agreement and the procedure for doing so. View them in Danish and English.

Sandbox environment is ready

We are pleased to inform you that the upcoming changes related to the new administration model will be released in the sandbox environment on 1 April.

This gives you the opportunity to test and adapt your systems ahead of the production rollout scheduled for 1 July.

The following changes and updates will be introduced:

It is now only possible to register registrar-managed .dk domain names.
Registrations and renewals will be limited to a 1-year period. Renewals can only be performed 2 months before the expiry date.
The withdraw command will be completely removed.

Important information for registrars participating in our incentive program

Punktum changes the criteria for payments for registrar-management:

As a registrar of second-level domain names under the .dk domain name (hereinafter "Domain Names"), you have entered into a registrar contract with Punktum dk. As a supplementary agreement to this registrar contract, an incentive agreement has been entered into between Punktum dk and you.

Pursuant to clause 2 of the incentive agreement, you have been entitled to payment of DKK 2 excl. VAT for the handling of a Domain Name for 12 months since the conclusion of the agreement.

Punktum dk amends the criteria for payments pursuant to clauses 2.1-2.5 of the incentive agreement with the notice stated in clause 2.6 of the incentive agreement, being three months’ notice effective to the expiration of , so that with effect from 1 July 2026, you will no longer be entitled to payment of DKK 2 excl. VAT for handling a Domain Name for 12 months.

The legal effect of the above amendment will then be that the payment referred to in clause 2.1 of the incentive agreement will be changed from DKK 2 excl. VAT to DKK 0 excl. VAT as of 1 July 2026 (inclusive). Consequently, by its very nature there will be no basis for/need to implement measures under clauses 2.2-2.5 of the incentive agreement for the period after 1 July 2026.

If you do not wish to accept the above amendment/cancellation of the right to payment for handling Domain Names, such non-acceptance shall be deemed your termination of the incentive agreement in its entirety, cf. clause 2.6, whereupon it will terminate on 30 June 2026, cf. clause 5.1.
